 % OF TIME/ACCOUNTABILITIES

80% - Supports Pets and Loving Seniors (PALS) program deliveries and Pet2Vet client and pet transport

15% - Assists PALS coordinator with program implementation and provision of resources.

5% - All other duties as assigned.

 

SCOPE
The primary responsibilities of this position are to support the PALS and Pet2Vet programs with implementation and delivery tasks such as measuring and allocating pet food and supply resources and delivering these to PALS clients’ homes and transporting clients and pets (dogs and cats) to scheduled veterinary appointments. This is an intermittent on-call position with no more than 1,000 hours per year.

  2. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Organizes work, sets priorities, meets critical deadlines and completes tasks with minimal direction.
  4. Possesses proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and data entry.
  5. Understands and follows oral and written instructions.
  6. Establishes and maintains effective collaborative working relationships with co-workers.
  7. Maintains accurate records and prepare accurate reports.

 

HUMAN RELATIONS

  1. Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing with clients, partner agencies and co-workers.
  2. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with clients, other agencies and or departments, supervisors, and co-workers.
  3. Maintains a professional working attitude and professional dress while representing the agency.

 

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS

  • Delivers PALS program supplies to eligible participants.
  • Transports pets on PALS program to veterinary/grooming appointments.
  • Promotes agency programs and services to older adults and the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Work is performed in a modern, smoke free office setting.  Occasionally, work will be performed outside as weather permits. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be comfortable with exposure to and contact with dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to pass KBI background check.
  • Two years’ experience in customer service and general office work.
