The County Treasurers Office is responsible for collection of real estate, personal property and motor vehicle taxes, special assessments and other miscellaneous taxes for Leavenworth County. The Treasurer apportions and distributes such revenue to local taxing units. In addition, the Treasurer is responsible for the title and registration application of motor vehicles, driver’s license renewals at the Tonganoxie Annex, and performs the function of a bank for all revenue-generating County departments and invests tax dollars

In addition to collecting taxes and registering vehicles, the Annex can:
Starting Tuesday June 4th, the Tonganoxie Annex will not being processing driver license renewals TEMPORARILY. Both County Treasurer Offices are experiencing staff shortages due to recent life events. Driver's License renewals will resume in October. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. You can follow this link to schedule a drivers license appointment at a different location.

· Renew ID Cards for individuals that do not have a CDL, and only issue ID Cards for individuals that are age 16 and under or has disabilities |
We now accept Master Card, Visa, Discover, and Debit Cards as forms of payment for vehicle registration and tax payments, when you come into our office. We do not accept American Express. Note: There is a 2.65% convenience fee charged by the credit card companies that goes directly to that company.

Online Renewals
If you have done an online renewal of your registration/tags, please allow 14 days for processing.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE REGISTRATION:
Commercial renewal hours are 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Both the Leavenworth and Tonganoxie locations can process commercial renewals.
Leavenworth and the Tonganoxie locations only process renewals, if you need to add vehicles to an existing fleet and/or set up a new commercial account please contact the state at 785-269-3621, select option 2 and then option 2.
