Recycling Center
The Leavenworth County Transfer Station is happy to announce that we are combining efforts with Leavenworth Paper and Office Supply and the Lions Club, to collect plastic bags for recycling! We have had a cannister for bags, in our Recycling Center, for a long time, but no outlet for actually recycling them – they would always have to be thrown in the trash. Now, when you bring up your plastic bags and put them in the cannister, they will be collected by our partners, LV Paper and Office Supply and the Lions Club and given to NexTrex for recycling! NexTrex is the recycling branch of Trex, which turns the bags into their Trex products, such as decking and benches.
You can bring your bags to the Leavenworth County Transfer Station Recycling Center,
located at 24967 136TH St, Lansing, KS
Tuesday thru Friday, 8:00am – 3:45pm, Saturday 8:00am – 1:45pm.
The Leavenworth Paper and Office Supply is also a drop-off for plastic bags.
They are located at 521 S 2nd St, Leavenworth, KS – Monday thru Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
We offer recycling to our county residents, same open hours as the Transfer Station.
The center is located at the Transfer Station, next to the scale house. You do not have to go through the scale for the recycling center! You may pull the sides of the recycling center to drop off recyclables. If you are recycling electronic waste or hazardous waste, you will come through the scale to notify operator and will then be guided to the drop-off area.
