The Leavenworth County Health Department offers a comprehensive range of services dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of our community. Our focus is on promoting environmental and community health through expert nursing care and preventative services, ensuring residents have the resources necessary to enjoy a healthy lifestyle in a safe and supportive environment.

To better serve our community, we operate seasonal satellite clinics at various locations such as schools, fire departments, community fairs, and the courthouse. These clinics are staffed by licensed nurses and provide a variety of professional services to meet local needs.

Our Commitment to Confidentiality: We prioritize confidentiality in all aspects of our operations, including medical and financial information, to ensure trust and privacy for every individual we serve.

Inclusive Service Delivery: The Leavenworth County Health Department is committed to providing essential preventive health services to all residents, regardless of race, religion, gender, or financial status.

Emergency Preparedness: We are actively updating and refining our Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Plan. This plan is designed to guide our response before and after a bioterrorism event or public health emergency. In collaboration with local healthcare providers, a regional coalition of five Kansas counties, and the State of Kansas, we monitor, evaluate, and respond to communicable diseases and other health threats of known or unknown origin.

Our Clinical Team: Our team comprises Public Health Nurses, a Social Worker, a Laboratory Technician, and Registered Dietitians, all supervised by a Medical Director, working together to promote community health.
