Wonder if you are eligible for a Bivalent COVID-19 booster shot?
CDC recommends that people ages 5 years and older receive one updated (bivalent) booster if it has been at least 2 months since their last COVID-19 vaccine dose, whether that was:
- Completion of a primary series with any FDA-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine.
or
- The most recent booster dose with any FDA-authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine.
People who have gotten more than one original (monovalent) booster are also recommended to get an updated (bivalent) booster.
Children 6 months–4 years who receive a 3-dose Pfizer-BioNTech primary series are not authorized to receive a booster dose at this time regardless of which Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine (i.e., a monovalent or bivalent) was administered for the third primary series dose.
