The intersection of 175th and Shawnee will be closed for a cross-road culvert replacement from approximately 8a.m. until 1p.m.  The closure will be in between Shawnee Road and 30048 175th Street.

ST-100 Bridge Replacement Project/Bridge Closed

Located on Fairmount Road, East of 179th street.  Leavenworth County was awarded KDOT Off-System Bridge Program funding assistance for the Grading, Bridge, and Surfacing Improvements in September 2021. The Off-System Bridge Program is a KDOT funding source that assists with up to 80% of costs associated with the construction and construction inspection services. The project improvements consist of replacing the existing 40’ length Concrete Tee Beam structure, built in 1973, with a 3-Span 130’ length Reinforced Concrete Haunch Slab bridge. The width of the new bridge will be 32’. Surfacing improvements included in the project consist of slight grading elevation modifications and 320’of HMA asphalt pavement reconstruction. The project will require closure of Fairmount Road, other than local traffic, from County Route 5/Tonganoxie Road west of the project to 171st Street east of the project. Project construction is scheduled to begin in May, 2023 and will be completed by November 1, 2023.

E-48 Bridge Replacement Project/Bridge Closed
The E-48 Bridge Replacement project on 255th Street, 1.25 miles North of K-192 is scheduled to begin construction on July 5, 2023.  Dondlinger & Sons Construction  of Wichita, KS was the successful bidder for the improvement project with a low bid of $418,453.50.  The roadway is a main access route for north-south traffic between Atchison County and northern Leavenworth County to the KDOT highway system.
Project improvements consist of replacing the existing 24' length by 18' roadway width Steel Beam Structure with 50' Concrete Deck/Steel Beam Bridge.  The bridge improvements will allow for a widened 28' driving surface width.  Grading improvements included in the project consist of slight grading elevation modifications, 125' of new gravel roadway surfacing, aggregate ditch lining and rip-rap slope protection for the new structure.
The project will require closure of 255th Street, north of K-192 Highway other than local traffic.  Project improvements are required to be completed and the roadway reopened by October 4, 2023.  The project is partially funded by a KDOT Local Bridge Improvement Grant that was awarded to Leavenworth County in the amount of $150,000.
