Field Crews

Leavenworth County Paramedics and EMT’s work 24-hour shift schedules starting at 0700 hours every morning. Field Crews work a California Berkeley type shift schedule of alternating days of 24 hours on-duty and 24 hours off-duty for a total of 3 shift days over a 5 day period. Then, the crews enjoy 4 days off in a row to relax, recharge, and recuperate for another rotation of shifts.field crew

The crews are divided into (3) shifts (A,B, & C). The crews rotate their station assignments on a rotational basis and staff the ambulances in a Paramedic/EMT configuration. The paramedic has the primary responsibility for all patient care on the ambulance for the duration of the shift. The shift is lead by a Shift Supervisor/Captain.

Leavenworth County EMS has (42) full time Certified Field Technicians and has the ability to have (16) on call staff.
